2001 Dodge Durango Sway Bar Kit Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Sway Bar Kit on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: For repair or service of the rear sway bar kit, the vehicle needs to be both raised and supported. In order to do this, remove the upper mounting nuts and bolts and then take the cotter pins and nuts from the links attached to the sway bar. The Puller C-3894-A makes it easy to remove the links and sway bar from the suspension. After that, get rid of the retaining bolts and retainers, then take off the sway bar and its bushings. Put in the new sway bar bushings first and then fit the sway bar so it is both centered and even spaced up and down. Affix the sway bar retainers and tighten the bolts to a value of 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Set the frame and sway bar link in place and then bolt and nut them to make sure it is secure. After you remove all the support, lower the vehicle, tighten the upper sway bar link nuts to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.) and the lower nuts to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.) and add new cotter pins.
