Place the wiper element so that the retainer with a notch is facing the rear wiper motor output shaft. First, push the top release tab to unfix the wiper arm, then raise the tab so it's standing straight up alongside the rear blade. Lift the rear wiper arm, remove the wiper blade from the liftgate glass and move it off the hook on the tip of the wiper arm towards the pivot end to break the connection. Take care to lift the hook pattern away from the wiper blade without letting the wiper arm hit the glass which could harm it. Lower the wiper arm tip slowly onto the car window. The next step is to again insert the notched retainer end correctly. Pull the tab for the rear wiper retainer up until it's standing straight and this should free the wiper arm from the glass. Place the rear wiper blade on the arm so the notched retainer is correctly positioned next to the hook shape near the edge. Feed the hook formation through the hole of the wiper blade core and line it with the pivot pin, then slide the wiper blade pin/latch into the hook formation. Press the rear wiper blade down onto the liftgate glass, then press the release button on top of the wiper arm until it snaps into place.
