How to Service and Repair a Back Up Light Switch on 2001 Dodge Neon?

Before handling the back up lamp switch, first lift your vehicle on a hoist. On the bottom of the vehicle, release the connection to the back up lamp switch and then unscrew the switch from the transaxle. Use a layer of Teflon tape or its substitute on the switch threads and install the spare lamp switch, tightening it to a torque of 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) and not going higher. Once you have connected the back up lamp switch connector, lower the vehicle and observe that the back up lamp is working.
