2001 Dodge Neon Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Light Switch on 2001 Dodge Neon?
A: Before you can service or repair the brake light switch, detach and separate the battery's negative cable from its post. Unscrew the brake lamp switch counterclockwise 30 degrees and remove it from its place in the bracket before you recycle it because it should not be reused. Install the switch by matching its index tab to the slot in the mounting bracket and then turn the switch clockwise for about 300 degrees to set it in place. With the brake pedal all the way up, adjust the switch lever on the back of the brake lamp to bring it to a straight up and down position. Secure the negative battery terminal, see that the brakes and stop lamps function normally and try a road test to check the brakes with ABS and speed control system working as they should.
