  • Q: How Do A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches Relate to Low Pressure Sensor Service and Repair on 2001 Dodge Ram 1500?
    A: To service the low pressure sensor/switch, begin by taking off the negative connection from the battery. Separate the wire harness connector from the a/c low pressure switch on the top of the accumulator and loosen and remove the switch from the accumulator's fitting, throwing away the O-ring. Install a new O-ring seal on the accumulator fitting after lubricating it with oil recommended for your vehicle's R-134a system, using only the advised special O-rings. Then, put the ac low pressure switch onto the accumulator, hand-tigthen it, attach the wire connector on the switch and lastly connect the battery negative cable back.
