2001 Jeep Cherokee A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an A/C Condenser on 2001 Jeep Cherokee?
A: First, take out the negative cable from the energy source and then release the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. Untwist the fitting at the condenser's refrigerant line inlet and seal every opened refrigerant line fitting with tape or plastic plugs. Then, break the liquid line connection at the condenser's yellow outlet on Left-Hand Drive or the yellow jumper on the liquid line on Right-Hand Drive, resealing those openings with plugs or tape. Wiggle the whole radiator and condenser assembly off and afterward take off the nuts on the two upper brackets near the condenser studs. Move the condenser down until it allows the two condenser studs to pass the upper bracket holes and the lower bracket holes to pass the dowel pins under the radiator and take it off the radiator. Set the holes on the condenser lower brackets onto the radiator's lower dowel pins, place the condenser above until the studs are in the holes of the radiator upper brackets and tighten the mounting nuts to 5.3 Nm (47 in. lbs.). Set the radiator and condenser unit in the vehicle, then remove both the tape and any plugs from the lines on the condenser and join the liquid line or liquid line jumper to the condenser's outlet. Take out the tape or plugs from the condenser inlet line on the refrigerant and join the discharge line with the inlet. Attach the negative cable to the battery, release all of the refrigerant and fill in the refrigerant system. Should the condenser be substituted, add thirty milliliters (just over one fluid ounce) of refrigerant oil to the refrigerant system, but ensure it is the correct formulated oil for the vehicle's compressor.
