  A: Prior to replacing the A/C liquid hose/line, sever the battery negative cable and then recover the refrigerant. Remove the liquid line refrigerant line couplers from the evaporator and condenser and put plugs or tape over all open refrigerant line fittings. Get rid of the liquid line in the vehicle. Connect the liquid line to the couplers after you remove the tape or plugs from the liquid line, evaporator and condenser connectors. Reconnect the battery negative cable, remove the refrigerant from the system and add refrigerant back into the system.
