2001 Jeep Cherokee Car Speakers Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Upgrade Car Speakers Without Removing the Headliner on 2001 Jeep Cherokee?
A: You should first take out the headliner, but you can replace your soundbar speakers while the battery negative cable is cut off. Dab a trim tool or something similar into each gap around the soundbar speaker grille on the rear headliner, allowing you to release the five snap retainers that attach the grille to the headliner support. Take out the left speaker grille and next, remove the two screws that hold the soundbar speaker on the headliner. Bring the soundbar speaker close to you, take out the headliner connector from the matching port and after that, take out the soundbar speaker from the support structure above it. Connect the soundbar wireless or radio frequency receiver right above the headliner, then hook up the headliner wire harness to the soundbar speaker connector. Set the soundbar speaker in the headliner speaker support structure's hole, screw it in place tightening them to 2.2 Nm (20 in.lbs.) and then install the silver bezel side piece. Place the five snap retainers on the speaker grille at the back of the soundbar and press against the headliner speaker support structure so all retainers are seated. After that, attach the negative cable of the battery.
