2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Wiper Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Rear Wiper Arm on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: First, move the rear wiper arm pivot cover up at the rear wiper motor output shaft end. Remove the nut holding the rear wiper arm to the rear wiper motor output shaft, then tilt the arm so that its over-center hinge is fully raised and the wiper blade does not touch the liftgate. Grab a battery terminal puller and pull it between the wiper arm and the motor to separate it from the rear wiper motor and then pull the end of the pivot arm off the motor shaft. Before you install your wipers, make sure the wiper motor is in Park. The rear wiper arm is also connected to the motor output shaft, making sure the wiper arm support stays over the park ramp and the pivot is over the output shaft. Place the support of the wiper arm on the park ramp with the Installation Position up, then drop the pivot hole down over the output shaft. Fix the nut attaching the rear wiper arm to the output shaft at 18 Nm or 160 in. lbs., snap the rear wiper arm pivot lid over the pivot, then lift the wiper arm support from the park ramp and put it back in the Park Position.
