When changing the wiper arm, first raise the front wiper arm into its over-center position and allow the spring tension to disappear at the
Wiper Pivot. Lift the cover around the plastic nut from the wiper arm and pivot, then unscrew the nut that holds the wiper arm in place. Grab the wiper arm at its root and pull it from the wiper pivot shaft splines with the battery terminal puller and remove the front end of the pivot from the wiper pivot. When setting up the car, move the
Wiper Motor to the park position by turning on the ignition before switching off the multi-function switch knob on the right side. When the wiper pivots move, keep waiting for them to stop and then switch the ignition back to OFF. With the wiper pivots and wiper motor in their parked positions, hook the upper ends of the wiper arms onto the pivots so the blade is touching the inside lines on the
Windshield glass. After the arm is aligned, ease up on the pivot spring, lift the arm slightly and move its hole over the shaft. Fit the nut under the wiper arm and tighten it snugly onto the wiper pivot shaft to 23.7 Nm (210 in. lbs.). Spray water on the windshield, position the front wipers, turn the wiper switch off and check that the arms are in the correct place. The last step is to put on the plastic nut cap over the pivot nut.
