2001 Jeep Wrangler Tie Rod End Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Tie Rod End on 2001 Jeep Wrangler?
A: First, remove the cotter pins and nuts in the steering knuckle and drag link before using puller tool C-4150R to remove the ball studs. You can also loosen both clamp bolts and take the tie rod ends off the end of the tube. While installing, put the tie rod ends into the hole, put the clamp around them and tighten to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). After that, add the tie rod onto the drag link and steering knuckle and tighten the ball stud nut on both by turning it to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs. of torque). Next, put on new cotter pins.
