  A: Before servicing the Side Impact air bag Control Module, turn off the supplemental restraint system by unplugging and insulating the negative battery cable for two whole minutes. Move the front seat as close to the windshield as it will go to get an easier angle to the B-pillar trim. Get rid of the front seat belt and retractor fastened to the B-pillar. After that, remove the four screws holding the Siacm mounting bracket inside the B-pillar. Use the retractor mount on the inside B-pillar to raise the Siacm, so the hook on the access hole clears the bracket's notch in the upper access hole. Take the Siacm and the bracket out by using the retractor's mounting hole and remove the body wire harness connector from the module connector receptacle. For installation, fit the Siacm and the mounting bracket together to the B-pillar, as one assembly and join the body wire connector again. Connect the hook on the Siacm mounting bracket to the notch in the lower edge of the upper access hole, then insert and loosely attach the four screws and finally tighten them to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.).
