2002 Dodge Durango Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Light Switch on 2002 Dodge Durango?
A: The first step to servicing a brake switch is to disconnect its harness. After applying the brakes, slide the switch counterclockwise until the lock tab fits into the bracket's notch, then pull it rearward out of the mounting bracket and let go of the brake pedal. When placing the switch, press and hold the brake pedal down, place the tab from the switch against the notch in the bracket, push the switch in until it clicks and turn it clockwise 30 degrees to lock it. After that, attach the harness wires to the switch and let go of the brake pedal. After that, operate the release lever on the switch to trigger the switch plunger; the switch is now adjusted and will not move again.
