2002 Dodge Durango Heater Core Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Heater Core on 2002 Dodge Durango?
A: Before attempting to service the heater core, remove and separate the air bag system's battery cable from any vehicle with air bags and wait a couple of minutes to safely discharge the device. Drain all the refrigerant gas from the cooling systems as your first step. Subsequently, take the heater-A/C housing away from the vehicle, remove everything from the inside of the HVAC housing and lift out the heater core. First, slip the heater core into the bottom part of the heater-A/C housing, close the housing and install the whole assembly back in the vehicle. Refill all of the areas in the cooling system that need liquid.
