2002 Dodge Durango Blower Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Blower Motor with the Optional Rear Heater-A/C Unit on 2002 Dodge Durango?
A: The only rear blower motor used on quality models with a rear heating and cooling unit is balanced at the factory and should be handled as a group with the wheel, housing and all mounting hardware. First remove the battery negative cable and isolate it, then open and take the inside trim panel away from the passenger compartment. First, pull out the motor connection, then take off the three screws that hold the blower motor in the heater A/C housing at the back. For step 4, place the rear blower motor and wheel onto the heater-A/C unit and begin securing it with three screws. Make sure the rear A/C unit's wire harness is sitting in the guide holes located on either end of the blower housing, then screw it into place with three mounting screws tightened to 3 Nm (27 inch-pounds). Last, connect the rear blower motor wire harness to the car and put the negative cable of the battery back.
