2001 Dodge Durango Heater Core Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Rear Heater Core on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: For repairing and servicing the heater core in the rear, first remove the rear trim cover, after that remove and save the three screws holding the blend door actuator in place. With the heater core out of way, take off the two screws from the plastic retainer on the heater/evaporator tubes and lift out the heater core. First, put the new heater core into the heater-A/C housing and use the two screws to attach the heater/evaporator tubes plastic retainer. Compress, reinstall and secure the blend door actuator according to the air door actuator-motor instructions and complete the process by screwing in the blend door actuator's three mounting screws. After that, reattach the rear trim cover.
