  A: The first step in servicing the turn signal flasher on a vehicle with air bags is to remove and isolate the battery negative cable and then wait two minutes allowing the air bag system capacitor to discharge. Disconnect the negative battery cable and locate the instrument panel wire harness connector under the outboard side of the steering column. Drop the combination flasher from its slot in the connector. With the panel wire harness connector in hand, insert the flasher and push it in till the terminals are secure. Place the slot on the combination flasher connector above the latch on the armature of the instrument panel and connect the flasher. Next, attach the battery negative cable to the battery terminal last.
