  A: The first step in working on the throttle control cable is to lose the throttle cable cover. In the engine compartment, free the cable from the cam on the throttle body and squeeze the retaining tabs to pull the cable out of the bracket. Inside the vehicle, press up on the throttle pedal then pull the cable and its retainer off the top of the shaft. After that, release the retainer clip connected to the throttle cable and grommet behind the dash panel and pull both parts out of the engine compartment. First, line up the grommet into the dashpanel. First, put the housing end fitting into the dashpanel grommet from the engine compartment, then turn the throttle lever all the way forward and lock it in position with the cable clasp. First, fit the throttle cable housing onto the cable bracket that's on the engine. Then, attach the throttle cable cover. Holding the pedal up, place the throttle cable core wire up through the pedal shaft hole and install the cable retainer and cable retainer clip.
