2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Front Wheel Speed Sensor on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Start by raising and stabilizing the vehicle before you deal with the front wheel speed sensor. Eliminate the bolt holding the front wheel sensor in place and then pull the sensor from the steering knuckle. Lift the sensor wire from the brackets on the steering knuckle and remove the sensor from the wire and harness. After installation, nip the sensor back onto the steering knuckle, then use Loctite 242 or Mopar Lock N' Seal with an undamaged bolt on the sensor mounting point. Connect the sensor mounting bolts and tighten each one to 106 - 124 in. lbs. Hook the grommets on the sensor wire into the steering knuckle brackets and plug the wire into the harness connector. Remove any chassis components or misshapes from the sensor wire while it is still supported, then unsupport it and lower the vehicle.
