Before you look at the fluid level, ensure the filler cap is clean and that the level reads COLD if you're at normal temperature. Make sure the pump fluid in the reservoir reaches the required level and sit it undisturbed for at least two minutes. Lift the front of the car off the ground and gently turn the steering wheel right and left at least 20 times, each time contacting the wheel stops.
