2003 Jeep Liberty Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Your Shock Absorber on 2003 Jeep Liberty?
A: First, put the car on a hydraulic jack positioned under the axle and check that the axle doesn't hang from the upper suspension arm ball joint. Then, unbolt the upper nut and bolt where the frame bracket is attached and then the lower nut and bolt on the axle to remove the shock absorber. Firstly, attach the shock absorber in the frame bracket with the bolt and nut, then place it in the axle bracket and add the second bolt and nut. Once the supports are removed, drop the car to the ground and tighten both mounting nuts using 108 Nm (80 ft. lbs.) in the upper area and 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.) in the lower area.
