How to Service a Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Before servicing the ECT Sensor, disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the cooling system to just below the level of the ECT Sensor. After that, unplug the electrical connector for the ECT Sensor and take out the ECT Sensor. The first step is to torque the ECT Sensor to 19 Nm (168 inch lbs.), next reattach its electrical connector. Carefully fill the system with the fluid you just bought and replace the negative battery cable.
