How to Service and Repair a Door Latch Assembly for Coupe and Convertible on 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

You need to remove the trim panel, the water shield and raise the door glass to access and service the latch on mecanical and power coupe and convertible door models. Separate the lock and latch rods from the latch and remove the wire connection from the power door lock motor when present, if you have one. Remove all screws joining the latch to the door frame at the end of the car and then remove the latch. Secure the door's handle or lock first after making sure the latch isn't set. Place the door latch inside the door and screw it in place on the door end frame. If you have a power door lock motor, reattach the wire connector to it. After that, fasten the latch and lock rods to the door latch. In the end, fit the trim panel and water shield and adjust the door latch as you need to.
