2003 Dodge Dakota Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Front Wheel Speed Sensor on 2003 Dodge Dakota?
A: You should lift and support the car before servicing the front wheel speed sensor. Next, remove the bolt holding the sensor to the steering knuckle and break away the clamps on the sensor wire near both the control arm and the inner fender panel. Inside the engine area, separate the sensor wire from its containing harness and get rid of the sensor. Only install factory replacement bolts because of their specially designed shoulders, length and surface and never use other bolts instead. Put the sensor into the knuckle and screw in the sensor attaching bolts until they reach 21 Nm (190 inch lbs.) of torque. Install the sensor wire retaining clamps on the control arm and fender panel, connect the wire to the harness in the engine compartment and make sure it isn't near moving or hot parts. With the steering wheel turned left and right, check that the wire is away from steering and suspension pieces before you take the supports away and lower the vehicle.
