How to Service and Repair the ABS Control Module in the Hydraulic Control Assembly for Antilock Brakes on 2003 Dodge Dakota?

You should first remove the negative battery cable before starting any service on the Hydraulic Control Assembly for Antilock Brakes. Release the brake lines from the HCU, hold the lock levers to pop out the connectors, then take off the connectors from the CAB. Also, take out the nuts that hold the assembly onto the mounting bracket and then remove the assembly from the vehicle. A DRB III must be used to program the CAB if a new one is going to be installed. Put the antilock assembly in the bracket and tighten the bolts to 14 - 15 Nm or 10 - 12 ft. lbs. Link the brake lines and CAB harnesses to the HCU, making certain the brake line fittings are secure at 19 Nm of tightness. After all that, reconnect the battery and flush the brake system.
