    A: Start by disconnecting and isolating the negative battery cable to disable the air bag system and wait two minutes and then to allow the system capacitor to discharge prior to servicing the cruise control switch to avoid the potential of unintended deployment of the air bag. The air bag module is removed next following the procedures of the Passive Restraint Systems. Remove the switch to steering wheel mounting screws and then the switch and disconnect the electrical connector at the switch. Installations: Connect the electrical connector to the switch; install the switch; secure the switch with the mounting screws and tighten the screws to 1.5 Nm (14 in. lbs.) torque. Reconnect the negative battery cable and finally reinstall the air bag module in accordance with the procedures for Passive Restraint Systems.
