How to Maintain a Shock Absorber on 2003 Dodge Durango?

Before servicing the rear shock absorber, first lift the car and prop up the rear axle. First, get the nut and bolt out of the spring plate and then remove the nut and bolts from the top of the frame bracket to remove the shock absorber. Install the shock absorber above the frame by bolting it in place with a tightened nut at 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Put the shock absorber in the spring plate afterward, install the bolt and nut and tighten the nut to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.), as before. Then, take out the axle support and gently let the vehicle down.
