2003 Dodge Neon Back Up Light Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Back Up Light Switch on 2003 Dodge Neon?
A: Start by putting the vehicle on a hoist when servicing the back up lamp switch. Disconnect the back up lamp switch plug in the lower part of the car, then unscrew the switch from its attachment point on the transaxle. Apply Teflon tape or an alternate to the switch threads and tightly secure the back up lamp switch to a torque of 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.), making sure you don't apply excessive force. Link the back up lamp switch to the connector, park the vehicle in neutral, release it and test the back up lamps.
