2003 Dodge Ram 1500 MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on 2003 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Mounted at the intake manifold's front, the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor features an O-ring to seal it. Before taking the sensor out, first unplug the electrical connector, then clean the surrounding area around the MAP sensor. Depress the mounting screws and, with the O-ring's condition in mind, lift out the MAP sensor from the intake manifold. When reinstalling the MAP sensor, wash out the mounting bore in the intake manifold and check the O-ring for any cuts or tears. Place the sensor within the manifold, secure the four mounting bolts to the correct torque and reattach the electrical connector.
