2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Van Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to service the front engine mount on 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Van?
A: Before servicing the front engine mount, raise the hood and place the fan so there is space above the radiator top tank and hose. Take the negative cable off the battery, making sure you are not ratcheting on the intake manifold. Install the supporting tool below the engine and raise the vehicle above it with a hoist. Take out the nuts from the brackets and insulators. Raise the engine a little so the support fixture allows you to take out the insulators. If you took out the engine mounting bracket, put it onto the cylinder block and tighten the bolts to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.) torque. After raising the engine, set every insulator into place. Use a support fixture to lower the engineer, while pressing the insulator studs into the holes in the crossmember and brackets. Turn the nuts attaching the battery to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.) torque. After that, put the vehicle on the ground and remove the engine support fixture.
