2003 Dodge Ram 3500 Control Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Control Arm in the Lower Suspension on 2003 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: The lower suspension arm should be serviced by first raising and supporting your vehicle. Use paint or a nail to score the cam adjusters and suspension arm for easy installation lineup. Get rid of the nut, cam and bolt from the axle first. Then, remove the nut and bolt from the frame rail bracket to free the lower suspension arm. Position the lower suspension arm where the axle bracket and frame rail bracket meet, then insert the rear bolt and only tighten the nut by hand. Then, fit the cam bolt, cam and nut onto the axle, so that the alignment marks are correctly positioned. When you take off the support, bring the truck to the ground and fasten the cam nut at the axle bracket to 217 Nm (160 ft. lbs.); do the same with the rear nut at the frame bracket.
