How to Safely Service the Headlight Switch on 2003 Jeep Wrangler?

For safety reasons, first remove the battery's negative cable when dealing with the headlamp leveling switch, as air bags are involved in most vehicles. Slowly lift the headlamp leveling switch from the steering wheel cover using a flat blade screwdriver or something similar. Remove the electrical connector from the headlamp leveling switch after you've already taken off the lamp. Place the switch in front of the opening of the steering column cover and plug the electrical connector into it. Be sure the headlamp leveling switch is in place before you attach the negative battery cable back in.
