2004 Chrysler Concorde Harmonic Balancer Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Harmonic Balancer and Crankshaft Pulley on 2004 Chrysler Concorde?
A: First, take out the upper radiator crossmember, then continue with the radiator fan and all the accessory drive belts. After that, unscrew the damper center bolt using Special Tool 8191 to hold the damper in place. It's necessary to ensure the A/C belt tensioner is separated from the damper so that the tensioner, timing chain cover and damper do not get damaged. After that, disconnect the damper with Special Tool 8194 Insert and Special Tool 1023 Three Jaw Puller. During installation use a Special Tool 8179 Screw with Nut and Thrust Bearing from 6792 and 6792-1 Installer to mount the damper. Before lowering the power unit, tighten the damper center bolt to 170 Nm (125 ft. lbs.), holding the damper using Special Tool 8191. When all is in order, reinstall the drive belts, the radiator fan and the upper radiator crossmember.
