2004 Chrysler Pacifica Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Your Second Row Seat Belt and Retractor on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: To handle the second row seat belt and retractor service, open the hood, separate the battery negative cable and allow the system reserve capacitor to drain for two minutes. Lift the back row seats in the service area, then remove the covers and bolts for the seat belt anchors on the lower quarter trim panel at the C and D-pillars. After that, take out the lower quarter trim panel and unbolt the seat belt retractors. After that, take off the turning loop cover and bolt from the upper quarter panel and uninstall the seat belt and retractor from the vehicle. To install, connect the seat belt and retractor in the vehicle, then insert the turning loop retaining bolt into the C-pillar, giving it a torque of 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) and then fit the cover on the seat belt turning loop. Set the retractor mounting bolts for the two seatbelts before putting back the lower trim panel, all while torquing them to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). After that, bolt in the second and third row seat belt anchor bolts, make sure they are torqued to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) and attach the lower anchor bolt covers. Replace the back seat on the involved side, attach the battery cable again, check the vehicle is working properly and shut the hood.
