You should remove the crankshaft oil seal at the beginning to properly connect the oil pump to the timing cover. Carefully clean the areas where the chain case cover and cylinder block connect, remove any burrs and then slide a new gasket onto the timing cover and attach it to the edge of the chain case cover, leaving the lower edge of the gasket 0.5 mm (0.020 in.) past the cover's edge. Turn the crankshaft so that the pump drive flats stand vertically, then arrange the inner rotor to match the drive flats on the crankshaft to prevent severe harm from not connecting properly. Attach the timing cover with the supplied bolts and tighten the bolts until the timing chain cover bolts have M8 torque of 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) and M10 bolts have M8 torque of 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Then, set up the crankshaft front seal, mount the crankshaft vibration damper and insert the coolant cross over pipe. Place the A/C compressor and hold down the power steering lines on the cradle and A/C bracket. Put the coolant hoses onto the coolant cross over pipe, mount the inner fender splash shield and then put on the oil pump pick-up tube, tightening the attaching bolt to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.) Next, install the
Oil Pan, lower the car and put in the
Water Pump and pulley. Put on the
Camshaft Position Sensor, secure the A/C electrical connectors, install the suction and discharge hoses and place the tube for checking oil levels, generator,
Power Steering Pump, idler pulley and belt for accessories. Place the upper
Engine Mount, allow the engine oil to fill to the correct level in the crankcase, fill the cooling fluid, drain and recharge the A/C and finally put the negative connector onto the battery.
