2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Dimmer Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Dimmer Switch on 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
    A: For maintenance on the combination switch, take off the hood and remove the negative battery cable. Take out the upper and lower steering column shrouds and after that, disconnect the posi-lock harness connectors from the rear of the multi-function switch. Unscrew the switch from beneath the car and take it out. While putting in a new multi-function switch, pull the combination flasher and windshield wiper/washer from its old spot, remove the two torx screws that held the wiper/washer switch and screw them into the new multi-function switch. Put the new switch where it belongs and fix it in its place by tightening the screws to 3 N.m (27 in.lbs.). Attach the posi-lock harness again at the back of the multi-function switch, place both steering column shrouds and reconnect the negative battery cable. Shut the hood and test both the vehicle and its system to confirm all works as it should.
