How to Service the Axle Shaft on the C205F on 2004 Dodge Dakota?

Start by raising the front of the C205F and putting the transmission in neutral for this service. Delete the half shaft and, if your vehicle has one, the skid plate. Wash around the axle seal and after that, remove the snap ring from the axle shaft. Remove the axle using the keys Remove X420A and Slide Hammer C-3752. To set up the bearing and seal, cover them with gear lubricant, then push the axle shaft into place in the side gear splines. Press strongly to get the snap ring in place. After inspecting the fluid level, add it if it's needed, then put the skid plate back on and finish off by adding the half shaft. Lastly, take away the support and lower the vehicle.
