How to Service an Axle Shaft Seal on a 9 1/4 Inch Rear Axle on 2004 Dodge Dakota?

To perform the 9 1/4 inch rear axle seals, first the axle shaft is removed and then with a small pry bar, the axle shaft seal is taken out of the end of axle tube. Thoroughly clean the axle tube bore removing any old sealer or burrs in it. Use Installer C-4076-B with Handle C-4735-1 to install the new seal being sure to use axle lubricant on the lip of the new seal; they will assure the seal is installed to the correct depth when it contacts the axle tube. Reinstall the axle shaft, then finally.
