2004 Dodge Durango Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Speed Sensor on 2004 Dodge Durango?
A: Prior to servicing or fixing the Transmission Speed Sensor, lift the vehicle and put a suitable container underneath the transmission. Take out the wiring connector from the input speed sensor and rescue any sealing patch that is already installed; it is factory installed and should be used again. Then, take out the bolt connecting the input speed sensor to the transmission case and take the sensor out. Fill up the sealing patch around the bolt with Mopar Lock & Seal Adhesive, insert the sensor into the transmission case and install it. Turn the bolt between 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.) and tighten it. After that, connect the wiring connector to the input speed sensor. Make sure the fluid is at the right level and add some if it is below before you bring the vehicle down.
