How to Maintain and Fix a Battery Cable on 2004 Dodge Ram 1500?

To work on the battery cable, shut off the ignition and be sure that all electronic accessories are turned off. Remove the negative cable from the remote post and then withdraw the battery. Undo one battery cable pushpin, fastener or routing clip after another until the cable is loose and then remove the battery cable from where it's attached in the engine compartment. During installation, run the battery cable through the engine compartment and secure it with each pushpin, fastener and routing clip until the cable is back in its original place. Following this, reattach the battery to the car and connect the battery negative cable terminal.
