2004 Dodge Ram 1500 PCV Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install the PCV Valve on the Oil Filler Tube on 2004 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: At the top of the oil filler tube is the PCV valve, held in place by a cam lock with two locator tabs and an O-ring seals the valve inside it. First, pull the rubber hose off the open side of the PCV line at the valve fitting to disconnect that system. After that, turn the PCV valve down (counter-clockwise) until the locating tabs are released by the cam lock and carefully pull the valve straight out with the pointed side facing down. After you take out the valve, have a look at its O-ring. Set the valve's locating tabs into the cam lock, press it down, then rotate it clockwise a bit so you hear it engage. After that, hook up the rubber PCV line to the back of the PCV valve and screw in the retaining clip.
