2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Master Cylinder with Hydroboost on 2004 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: First, unconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder, disconnect the electrical cable for the low fluid warning and take out the mounting nuts to remove the master cylinder. Be sure to pull the master cylinder straight up as you take it off, so that you don't dislodge the output rod from the booster. Before placing the new master cylinder, bleed the old one and place the output rod so that it enters the plunger during installation. After that, place the master cylinder onto the booster, secure it with fresh nuts tightened to 25 Nm (221 in. lbs.) and link the brake lines which should then be secured to 19 Nm (170 in. lbs.). Then, join the electrical wire of the low fluid sensor and use the bleeder to fill and bleed the base brake assembly.
