2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Blower Motor Resistor on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: First, unplug and isolate the battery's negative cable to lay out the blower motor resistor. Then, push down the locking tab and pull the wire harness connector out of the blower motor resistor and then remove the resistor connector from the blower motor. Open the housing and undo the screws connecting the blower motor resistor; then, remove the resistor. During installation, fit the new blower motor resistor into the HVAC housing, checking that it is facing the right way and fasten the mounting screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.) tightness. Following that, attach the wire harness connector to the blower motor resistor and plug the connector from the resistor into the blower motor and at last reconnect the negative battery cable.
