2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Seat Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Perform a Seat Switch Replacement for the Passenger Seat on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: You should disconnect and isolate the battery's negative cable prior to removing the passenger seat switch. If your seat has the ten-way power system, use a push pin remover or a wide flat-bladed object to gently lift the power seat and power recliner switches from the stems. Unscrew the three bolts holding the side shield to the frame and then free the side shield to expose the main wire connector. Take out the wireless harness connector from the switch connector receptacle. After that, take out the two screws securing the power seat switch to the side shield of the outboard seat and remove the switch. Simply mark the switch to place it on the fitted outside cushion shield of the seat and use the two screws to secure it to 1.5 Nm (14 in. lbs.). Fit one end of the power seat wire harness connector into the power seat switch connector receptacle, then put the side shield that comes with the outboard seat cushion onto the frame and attach and tighten it with the three screws to 1.5 Nm (14 in. lbs.). For power seat systems with ten-way adjustment, push and tighten the switch knobs onto the ends of their stems. Lastly, hook the negative terminal of the battery back on.
