How to Service and Repair a Rear Door Latch Assembly on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

It's possible to remove the waterdam in order to service and repair the rear door latch. Then take out the screws that secure the latch to the door as well as the electrical harness connector. Next, remove the rods from the door latch and take the latch off the door. With the latch in the door, connect electrical harness connector for installation. Attach the screws to connect the latch to the door, then locate these screws (on the back side of the door) and tighten to 11 N.m (8 ft. lbs.). Reinstall the waterdam and check to be sure the power lock and ajar switch are working properly.
