2005 Jeep Wrangler MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on 2005 Jeep Wrangler?
A: To change or install the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor, it has to be removed from behind the intake manifold by following special steps. Take down the electrical connector from the sensor before handling the sensor area. After that, take out the screw from the sensor, since its head is TORX and then pull out the MAP sensor from the intake manifold. While you're doing this, examine the O-ring on the sensor to ensure it isn't broken. Clean the MAP sensor housing area in the intake manifold and make sure the O-ring doesn't have any rips or holes. Push the sensor into the manifold and screw it into position, making sure the torque is 3 N.m (25 in.lbs.). At this point, attach the electrical harness.
