2004 Jeep Wrangler Wiper Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace the Illumination Lamp for a Wiper Switch on 2004 Jeep Wrangler?
A: To change out the rear wiper and washer switch illumination lamp, on cars with air bags you must first remove and block the battery negative connection for two minutes to turn off the supplemental restraint system. Take the rear wiper and washer switch off the accessory switch bezel by the instrument panel. Hold a small thin-bladed screwdriver and use it to turn the switch housing near the ambient light counterclockwise about 30 degrees, then slide the unit and holder straight out. Choose the right bulb size and type so it fits properly and won't become too hot or cause damage to the system. Place the bulb holder and bulb unit over the bulb mounting hole, insert it straight and push until the holder is securely in position. Afterward, place the rear wiper and washer switch in the accessory switch bezel and attach the battery negative cable.
