You should stop air bag operation by taking out and isolating the battery negative cable and waiting two minutes. Remove the cover from the instrument panel above the
Steering Column opening, then remove the two screws holding the lower steering column shroud to the upper one. When the vehicle has a tilt steering column, place the steering wheel flat and leave the release lever in the free position. Both shrouds on top and beneath the turn signal light should be removed and the multi-function switch cables joined to each receptacle should be disconnected from both sides. Take out two screws that join the multi-function switch assembly to the top of the steering column. Remove the assembly. Depress and remove two small screws that join the two multi-function switches and then pull the control handle on the right multi-function switch. When installing the switch, align the pins, place the right switch on the left switch and secure it by tightening the two screws to 2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). This time, position the switch assembly on the upper side of the column housing and mount it with two screws, tightened to 2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Connect both cross body wire harness connectors to the switches and then attach the upper and lower shrouds to the steering column, making sure the tabs are in place. Screw the lower shroud to the upper shroud using two screws tightened to 2 Nm (18 in. lbs.). If the vehicle has a tilt steering column, raise it and position it, ensure it is locked, put back the cover over the opening and link up the negative
Battery Cable.
