  A: First remove the grille, then bring out the hood latch and disconnect its cable. Then, remove the trim panel from the driver side cowl and take out the two screws that hold the hood release cable assembly to that panel. Take off the rubber grommet from the dashboard and use the hood cable to pull the entire hood release assembly out through the dash panel's hole. When installing, place the hood release cable assembly into the vehicle, run the hood cable up through the hole in the dashboard and into the engine compartment's front and attach the rubber grommet into the dashboard. After that, put the hood release cable assembly on the cowl panel and attach it there with the two retaining screws. Place the trim panel on the driver side cowl panel, connect the hood release cable to the hood latch and put the latch back in place. Set the grille in its slot, make sure the hood is centered and works properly with the latch and ensure there are 4 mm (0.160 in.) gaps along each side of the hood around its edges.
