  A: To work on the hood cable, take out the grille first and later remove the hood latch and disconnect its cable. Remove the air dam on the driver in front and get rid of the two screws that fasten the hood release cable assembly to it. Get rid of the rubber grommet on the dash and pull the release cable through the hole up top to remove the hood release assembly from the car. While installing, slide the hood cable assembly inside the car, directing the release cable up through the dash panel opening and into the front of the engine area. After the grommet goes in on the dash panel, place the hood release cable assembly onto the cowl, then secure it tightly with the two screws. Fit the trim panel to the driver side cowl panel, attach the hood cable to the latch and put the latch into place. Then, place the grille back, check that the hood closes evenly and reaches the inner latch points and confirm that the 4 mm (0.160 in.) gap is neatly aligned to the sides of the vehicle.
